1 · Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to find, check and hire a tradesperson on Tradelynx, whatever their sight, hearing, movement or memory. If something gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it or find another way to help.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this website. We have not yet reached that everywhere, and section 5 lists what we know is not right.
This statement covers the public pages of www.tradelynx.co.uk: the home page, town and trade pages, tradesperson profiles, guides, tools and policies. It does not yet cover the signed-in areas or our mobile apps (see section 5).
2 · Change how this site looks
These options change Tradelynx for you on this device. They are kept in this browser only: you do not need an account, and nothing is sent to us.
Your device's own settings work here too. If you have asked your device to reduce motion, we do. If your device is set to dark mode, the site follows it.
3 · What already works
- Keyboard: the links, buttons and forms on the public pages are built to work with the keyboard alone. The first key press on any page offers "Skip to main content".
- A clear focus outline: whatever you have selected with the keyboard has a thick green outline around it.
- Zoom: we never stop you zooming in, and pages reflow to fit a phone screen without scrolling sideways.
- Colour contrast: text meets the WCAG AA contrast levels in both light and dark mode.
- Links you can spot: links inside sentences are underlined, so they are not marked out by colour alone.
- Screen readers: each page has one main area, headings in order, and a label on every form field.
- Plain English: our main policies include short plain-English summaries.
4 · How we test
We last tested the public pages on 26 October 2026. We used axe, an automated checker, against WCAG 2.2 level A and AA, on more than 40 page types, in light and dark mode, at desktop and phone width. A shorter version, covering one page of each main type, now runs against the live site every night, so a new problem is found quickly.
Automated tools find many problems but not all of them. We have not yet had the site tested end to end by disabled people or with every screen reader.
5 · What is not right yet
- Signed-in areas: the tradesperson dashboard, customer account pages, the admin area and the business portal have not yet been through this review. They are next.
- Mobile apps: the Tradelynx apps for iPhone and Android have not yet been reviewed.
- Form field borders: the outline of some text boxes is lighter than the 3:1 contrast WCAG asks for, which can make an empty box hard to see. The label above each box is clear.
- Other companies' pages: card payments (Stripe) and identity checks (DiDit) open pages run by those companies. We do not control those pages.
- Downloads: some PDF reports may not work well with a screen reader. Ask us and we will send the information another way.
6 · Tell us about a problem
If something on Tradelynx is hard to use, or you need information in another format such as large print, easy read or audio, email support@tradelynx.co.uk. Tell us the page you were on and what went wrong. A person reads every message, and most are answered the same day or the next working day.
If you would rather someone did it with you, say so in your email and we will help you post your job.
If you are not happy with how we respond, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) gives free advice: equalityadvisoryservice.com.
