How jobs are verified
Every job on a property's HomeLynx Passport carries an evidence grade. The grade is derived from evidence โ it is never set by hand, not by the trader, not by the homeowner, and not by us. When we say a work history is verified, this page is exactly what that means.
The three grades
Both the tradesperson and the customer confirmed the job was completed, AND the payment was processed through Tradelynx (card or pay-by-bank). That means the amount, the date, and both parties' identities are attested by a third party โ not just claimed. This is the strongest grade a job can hold, and the one that counts toward a trader's headline verified-jobs number.
Both sides confirmed the job happened and was completed โ but it was settled directly (cash, bank transfer, the trader's own invoicing), so the amount is self-declared rather than independently evidenced. A Recorded job is a real job with a lighter evidence trail โ nothing about this grade implies anything went wrong.
Only one side has confirmed the job so far. Unconfirmed entries stay visible to the property owner so they can act on them, but they are excluded from property reports and never counted in any verified-history claim until the other party confirms.
Evidence that strengthens a record
Each of these is recorded independently on the entry. They enrich the evidence trail of any job โ but only a platform-processed payment upgrades the grade itself, because that is the only signal a third party attests.
- Platform-processed payment. The only route to Verified โ a card or pay-by-bank payment through Tradelynx is third-party evidence of settlement.
- Certificates. Gas Safe, Part P / electrical, FENSA, EICR, building-control sign-off โ uploaded against the job where the trade requires one.
- Materials invoice. A supplier invoice supporting the scope of work.
- Photos. Before/after photos attached to the job.
- Trader verification at the time. Whether the trader held verified status when the job was done.
Why grade at all?
A property's work history is only worth what its evidence supports. Homeowners share these records when they sell; agents, insurers and lenders read them when they assess a property. A platform that stamps everything "verified" is really verifying nothing โ so our reports state the grade on every entry, and a job confirmed by one side only is never presented as history. Tradelynx takes no commission on jobs, so the choice of how to get paid is genuinely yours โ jobs settled through the platform simply produce a record that carries more weight, because the payment itself is evidence.
