Most people guess the contents figure on their insurance renewal. The HomeLynx Passport has an inventory that turns the guess into a sum.
Room by room
The inventory groups what you own by room, biggest total first, with each room's count, value and the number of items still unvalued. Move an item to another room with a tap.
The prompts
It lists the items with a receipt but no value, the items with no value at all, and the items with only a purchase price. Quickest fix first, each one tap from sorted. The aim is a list with numbers on it, because a contents claim with values is a different conversation from one without.
The cover check
Enter the sum insured and the renewal date from your policy. The inventory sets your total against it and tells you whether you look within your cover, or how much short. It is a comparison of two numbers. It is not insurance advice, and the page says so.
Taking it with you
Download the inventory as a spreadsheet, one row per item, whenever you want it somewhere else. Give the policy an end date and the renewal joins the next-due list with everything else.
What it costs
Nothing. The Passport is free for any UK postcode, and homeowners never pay for the inventory or for any pack made from the record.
Renewal letters land in the autumn. This is the week to spend twenty minutes on the list.
