A photo from a phone carries more than the picture. Most carry the exact spot the photo was taken, the device that took it, and the time. Send it to a stranger and you have sent all of that.
What Tradelynx does with it
Photos sent with a job request are re-encoded and their metadata is stripped before any tradesperson sees them. The tradesperson gets the picture of the leak or the crack. They do not get a pin on a map.
Who sees the request
One verified tradesperson at a time. Your request is never posted to a list for everyone to read. The conversation happens inside the job, and the tradesperson's own direct contact details are never on their public profile either. Enquiries travel through the platform in both directions.
What stays yours
Your photos, reviews, notes and posts stay yours. Our terms say we store and show them only for the purpose you submitted them. A review about a kitchen is a review about a kitchen.
Where it is held
Tradelynx Limited is the data controller, registered with the ICO under ZC156126. Data is held in the EU region, sensitive fields are encrypted, and access is logged. Our own first-party analytics set no cookie and store nothing on your device. Google Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies.
The detail is at tradelynx.co.uk/privacy-and-trust, written for people rather than lawyers. Why phones record location at all is in the location data hidden in your photos.
