The Residential Logbook Association is the trade body for UK digital property logbooks, supported by the housing ministry, and it keeps the register that lists of providers are compiled from. If you want to be found as a logbook, you want to be on it.
Membership means meeting its specification for what a logbook must contain and do. The tempting move is to apply first and discover the gaps in the reply. We did the opposite: a written assessment, requirement by requirement, of where the HomeLynx Passport already meets the specification, where it partly does, and where it does not yet.
That document is not public, and it is honest in the way an application never is. It says what we would have to build. It says which requirements our design disagrees with and why. It puts the decision to apply in front of the person who owns it, with the homework attached.
Whether the application goes in is a commercial decision, not an engineering one. What engineering owed was the truth about the distance, before anyone paid for the journey.
