A verified mark is only as useful as the list of what it covers. Here is ours, and the list of what it does not cover, because both matter.
What does Tradelynx check?
Identity. Before a tradesperson can take work, they complete a biometric identity check: a document checked against a live selfie. The person at your door is the person on the profile.
Insurance. Public liability insurance evidence must be on file and checked. Since 25 September 2026 a declaration no longer counts. Only a checked certificate does. Expiry dates are tracked and a daily check chases renewals before anything lapses.
Accreditations. A person checks each claimed accreditation against the public register: Gas Safe, NICEIC, ELECSA, NAPIT, OFTEC, WaterSafe, the Federation of Master Builders, NFRC and TrustMark. We record which register, when, and what it said.
Approval. A person approves every tradesperson. Software reads documents for speed but can neither approve nor reject anything.
What does Tradelynx not check?
We do not run a criminal-record check, and we do not describe the identity check as one. We do not contact the insurer; we check the certificate. We have no live feed into any register, which is why a profile says "checked on" a date and never "currently registered". We do not audit work on site.
What we do not promise
Tradelynx does not guarantee workmanship or pricing. The agreement for the work is between the customer and the tradesperson, and we are not the contracting party.
The full list is on the standards page. A mark that hides its limits is not worth much to anyone.
How each check works from the tradesperson's side is in what we check before you can take work.
